With warm weather upon us in Hardin County, I’m always excited to see when great things come closer to our community that allow us to have fun, cool off, and entertain the entire family. Kentucky Kingdom is a 42 mile drive from Elizabethtown, 28 miles from Fort Knox 32 miles from Radcliff.
With the recent announcement that Kentucky Kingdom will be opening May 24, 2014, I am already thinking about how cool a season pass would be to something so close to Elizabethtown.
According to the press release, Kentucky Kingdom will have much to offer. There “will be the addition of the first new rollercoaster in 17 years and a large expansion of the Hurricane Bay water park. We are doubling the size of the water park, adding three new waterslide complexes, a 12-000-square-foot wave lagoon, and an adventure river, which is six times faster than the existing lazy river. All in all, we will have one of the largest water parks in the region.”
Certainly its a short jaunt, but it looks like it is going to be an amazing way to have great fun in warm weather starting next summer.
