“Staying in the car and riding around with the kids in the warm backseat never got anymore fun.”  – Heather Heuman

This holiday season, once you have all your special people together and you are ready for something to do that is fun, free, and right here in our midst, head on over to Freeman Lake Park for Christmas in the Park! It’s a brilliant display of lights with over 100 displays. It’s easy to find yourself going through several times over this Christmas season. This is an event where you enjoy all the beauty of the lights through your car windows and stay in the comforts of your car.  There’s no getting out of the vehicle and there’s something about it that I find to be truly special.

Don’t let the date fool you because it will be up and ready for you to see starting the day before Thanksgiving. You won’t have to wait until December.

An illuminated roadway will guide you through this beautiful spectacle of Christmas Spirit. Lights glimmering upon the lake will create that special Christmas Magic for you and your family.

TIP: It gets much busier on the weekends, so plan accordingly.

Admission is FREE, but donations are

gladly accepted.

Location: Freeman Lake Park,100 Freeman Lake Road, Elizabethtown, KY

Enjoyed the lights, that is AFTER we figured out how to get in the place. The address on your site leads you to the entrance which is closed. It’s not well marked and difficult to find in the dark.

  5. Lisa Adkins says:

We made this a family tradition yrs ago and will continue to visit every year. Well, actually we go through at least 4 times a yr. It’s so beautiful!

  6. Trish says:

We having been doing this every year for about 6 years now. It is a family tradition that we try to never miss. In fact we will be there tomorrow. We drive over an hour to come see the lights.

  7. Stephanie says:

We go every year. It is usually a great experience. Tonight was very disappointing though. At least half the lights were not working. Why do they not have someone drive thru before it opens to make sure they are working before it opens?

  8. Brittany says:

We arrived at 10:50 on a Saturday night and the gates were already closed. We drove for 35 minutes for nothing. Maybe you should put on here that the entrance closed BEFORE 11. We were greatly disappointed.

  9. Can you still go to the park and the playgrounds during this time?
