Elizabethtown Family was founded and created November of 2011. That’s 11-11-11! The passion and vision behind this was based on a need in Elizabethtown and the surrounding area for families to gather ideas on events and activities, things to do, explore and eat. This includes everything from music class and vacation bible school for children to new hot spots for a mom’s lunch outing and pedicure. And of course there are businesses and non-profits that want to make connections with the thousands that flock to our website, social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest) and more every single week.
Jessica Spears, CEO/Owner, is a resident of Hardin County, where she has lived in Elizabethtown, KY for over 10 years. First and foremost, Jessica has dedicated her life to being a faithful servant of Jesus Christ. She has a heart to serve, and a passion to connect others within our community. Jessica is a Computer Information Systems graduate of Morehead State University, and has focused her career on web design. She is a veteran software developer, where she was a previous employee at Hewlett-Packard. Jessica currently works as Hospitality Coordinator and Webmaster for a local church. Not only is Jessica invested in the growth of Hardin County and the promotion of events taking place in the community to build awareness but also on just connecting people in general. Jessica is beyond thrilled to be a part of Elizabethtown Family, where her experience in web design, graphic editing, and her charismatic personality serves in connecting and growing Elizabethtown Family’s outreach within Hardin County. Jessica has a passion for women in business, and is inspired by her family. Jessica enjoys the multiple hats that she has been blessed to wear in her life: wife, mom, business woman, software developer, webmaster, Creative Manager, and now CEO/Owner of Elizabethtown Family.
Emily Blain, Creative Manager, is a resident of Elizabethtown, where she has lived for 10 years. Born and raised in the area, Emily grew up on a local farm, working tobacco, hay, caring for the orchard, and much more. Emily is a Social Studies and Political Science graduate of Bellarmine University, and a graduate of the University of Kentucky where she received her Master’s Degree in Secondary Education. She worked in the field of politics, then with the Social Security Administration until she and her husband decided to start a family. She spent any free time she had helping to run her family’s orchard and greenhouse business. She has spent the past 5 years raising her 3 children in Hardin County and connecting with the community. She has a passion for running, fitness, and cooking. She enjoys connecting with local families and creating new friendships, so Elizabethtown Family was an easy fit. Her creativity and outgoing personality was a perfect match for our team!
